Symmetry on an already posed character

Hello,

I’m new to Zbrush and wanted to ask what is the best way to approach symmetry in this case.

I have my character with clothing already posed in Marvelous Designer. I’m importing it into Zbrush for some additional sculpting. What is the best way to make the symmetry work since the character is not symmetrical anymore and not positioned on 0 world coordinates. Do I have to import the character in the T-pose as well, to make Zbrush understand how the mesh works?

Any advice is appreciated, thank you for your time.

If your figure’s topology is symmetrical, then posable symmetry may work, but it really depends on the situation. If the figure is no longer centered, you may have to activate Transform > L.Sym (local symmetry) as well.

It is far better to simply get all your symmetrical work done before posing, however. There’s a reason they refer to it as a “discipline”.
