Symetry Orientation - off!

OK, just downloaded and installed ZBrush on my MacBook Pro OSX 10.9.1 and working my way through the intro video’s. First problem - symmetry is off - actually on an angle of about 60 degrees. Did a bit of fiddling and it looks like it was the default camera is off on a steep angle. I can rotate it back but the default is off every time I open ZBrush. Is this a bug? Seems odd that the default camera is rotated to the left about 60 degrees!

What? Zbrush doesnt’ use a camera angle. It uses a straight canvas and object orientation. I’m a little confused about what you mean by the symmetry axis is off. Can you show a picture?

Install this. http://www.zbrushcentral.com/showthread.php?161588-quot-Axis-quot-Plugin-for-ZBrush-4r2

Just got my internet axis back - got to love ISP’s! Here is what I mean (see image). I just “drew” the sphere and as you can see, the ‘view’ is on an angle (this is the default view).

Obviously I have a long way to go and a lot to read to get up to speed with the features of this application.

OK, Just worked it out… The orientation defaults to the direction I ‘drew’ the sphere on. ie if I dragged the sphere out vertically then the axis is upright. If I drage the sphere out diagonally then thats the angle of the axis. Seems a little odd to me - but I have a lot to read…

Install the axis plug, things will make a bit more sense then. There is still much to read and learn through experimentation.

I have still to learn how to install plug-ins and the like

PS: I also need to take care with my screen dump images. I forget that my MacBook has an insane screen resolution when I take screen dumps…
