Swamp cabin

The following is a “scary” cabin that I made for Renderosity’s Halloween Contest. The deadline is in two days, and I cannot seem to get beyond the cabin itself. I have been trying, in ZBrush, to create an effective background and other outdoor elements, but either I lack the skill, or Zbrush’s limitations on spacial dynamics are keeping me from coming up with an acceptible result. So, I have decided not to enter that contest. Since I created the cabin entirely in ZBrush, from modeling to texturing, I decided to share it here. I looked at this particular image for a couple of days and came up with a few changes that would have helped it, including moving some elements here and there, as well as adding other things to the cabin, such as hooks and animal carcasses hanging from the porch, a ladder coming down from the dock into the swamp, maybe a fishing net on the side, some gator skulls, etc.

Anyway, since I am not entering it into the contest, I decided not to proceed with the changes and additions, but wanted to share what little progress I did manage to make…

thats a really nice cabin there. wish we could see a bigger pic. what kind of issues were you having with the background stuff? how did you go about texturing, PM zapplink or what?
i guess your hobo has a place to sleep now<img src=“http://www.zbrushcentral.com/pixo/atn.gif”>

Slosh: Long time no see/hear bud. Glad to see you posting, cabin looks pretty creepy and great, think what you mentioned for additions will also up the scary factor. Whether you enter the contest or not I definitely think you have the skill if you decided to create more elements for this piece. Not sure what issues your having but definitely would like to see more images of your cabin. Hope your doing good and can’t wait to see more. :+1:

hey slosh looking good like the old wood feel to it nice to see your still around hope you enter in the sketch challenges when they startup again i know i am looking forward to see what you do for them…

would really like to see an up close or larger image of this…
