Svg import problem

1

Hi all,

I just imported a bunch of svg’s into zbrush (created in adobe illustrator) and everything came in fine except for a complex floral pattern. As you see in the photo, the ‘closed’ islands are disregarded and filled.

I tried increasing the anchor points in illustrator, exploding the compount path (hoping that it would look bad in illustrator but import nicely in zbrush) but nothing.

I’ve imported similar topology again (a shape with holes) and it has worked fine.
Is it the complexity of the shape or could it be something else?
here is the svg file in case someone wants to have a go at it: fl1.zip (20.0 KB)

Hello Aris,

The SVG file needs to contain closed shapes with no open curves–everything must be vector outlines. It must also be flattened with no layers.

hi Spyndel, thanks for your answer!

As I found out, there is a setting when exporting from illustrator “decimal point” which apparently defines the precision of the vectors. For the specific path, 3 was the optimal number, less than that there were errors and more than that it took a long time to import.

I’m leaving it here in case someone else has the same problem.
