Last year I started with a chimp study and decided to make different iterations of ape species. My goal was to be done before end of year 2022 but you know how sometimes you don’t.
Anyways, here is a Sumatran Orangutan concept study in Zbrush. Fibermesh are tricky but I think I’m getting there.
I used Photoshop to merge layers

I almost gave up brushing those fibers but I found my way around. I felt almost like I was in a hair saloon haha it was fun!
Next time I need a hair cut I’ll ring you 
Yes, you’re right, it’s very similar as to how you would approach grooming, brushing and combing in the real world.
