Subtool with layer will turn black on lower subdivision level

I never get this before 2020 version. Before if I went subtool to lower subdivision level, its polypaint would also go to lower resolution corresponding. But in 2020 version the subtool will just turn black, so that I will turn its polypaint switch on and off repeatly when sculpting in lower subdivision level then check result in top subdivision level. It’s annoying process. Can I change Zbrush’s behavior back to 2019 version?

Hello @heroineism!

I can confirm Zbrush is behaving differently in this situation than it did previously, at least on Windows.

You must exit recording mode on the active layer in order for it to behave as it did previously. If you change subdivision level with recording mode active, you will get that black color.

If you’d like this issue to receive technical attention in Zbrush, you will need to make a Support ticket. This is just the community forum.

Thanks SPYNDEL, I will send a ticket to pixology. This layer recorde logic is very odd.
