Subtool look dim/ a little bit darker when active (Not masked, polypainted, only one object)

What I’ve done is extracted a mesh and it’s a bit darker than other subtool (already unmasked) almost the same as inactive subtool, I can edit and do everything as normal. This happened to a specific subtool, others are normal. How do I fix it?

the dim one

these are normal one

Hi @gokusick ,

I’m not sure I’m seeing anything out of the ordinary here. In all of your screenshots the selected subtool is lighter than the surrounding subtools. This is normal if no polypaint is active.

I think the case of Extract 37 being just a bit darker is simply a matter of the matcap lighting. Note that the polygons are angled differently (downward leaning) than the belt object just below it. This will influence how they look on the screen.

Try using a brighter matcap like Matcap White. Remember that matcap materials have the lighting baked into the material itself and they do not respond to scene lighting. Use a standard material like Basic if you want to the materials to respond to the lighting in the Lighting palette. If you want to eliminate all material information and just see exactly how much dimming is being applied to any subtool, select the Flat Color material.

The degree of inactive subtool dimming can be adjusted in Preferences> Edit.

Thanks I think it might just be matcap.
