Sub-palette custom copy/move

I cant seem to find a way to move an entire sub-palette into my own custom palette. Lets say I would like to collect three plugins into a new custom palette that I call “my plugins”. Like when you drag a button onto the custom palette you use ctrl+alt. I`m sort of looking for a similar way to drag a group of buttons or an entire sub-palette.

The only way I can come up with now is to recreate the sub-palette in a new custom sub-palette by moving all of the buttons from the original sub-palette into my new costom one, creating an identical sub-p. This would be both tedious and unnecessary.

What am I missing here?

Hi @tbperu

You can drag a palette into an available interface slot or tray, but you cannot nest one menu inside of another. In other words, you can’t customize individual menus on the fly.

You can:

  1. Make a custom interface, and drag the elements where you want in the available trays.

or

  1. You can create a custom menu with whatever items you wish, and assign it to a custom interface or hotkey. This video illustrates this.

Ok, thank you very much

Hi there,

pickup this rather old topic.
Run in exactly the same problem, like TBPERU.

I bring all the submenus from the default subtools
to a new created custom tool palette,
to get rid of this annoying scrolling.

So I did for the subtool layers. I track 9 default subtool layers from an opened project
to the custom subtool palette.

Problem is now, if I open a new tool, the default subtool show the tool
in it´s layer menu.

The custom tool layer is now empty.

What did I wrong?
How to manage it, that the custom tool layer update a new tool?

The custom palette as itself is far to long in vertical direction (with nothing in it, in the end) How can I shorten it?

As a default ZBrush seems to have the possibility to offer a left and a right palette.
I have a plenty amount of space on my 49Inch screen.
So why not try to put 1 left and two palettes right to the viewport.
Would that be possible?

Thanks a lot for your help!

Chris
