Streaky Render Problem

Hey guys, I’m having issues when I render with BPR - the surface of my model looks streaky, like it was made of poorly mixed plastic. It shows up no matter what material I’m using. What am I doing wrong? Any ideas?

Thanks!

What setting for Render>BPR RenderPass>SPix are you using?

I think I had it on 3 or 4, I just cranked it up to 7 and that seems to do it! Thanks! Now, if I may may ask another rendering question - when I use the LightCaps, why do I get the odd stepping in the gradation? Thanks!

Hmm, I’ve not seen that before… How are you creating your LightCap? And what Render Properties settings do you have? (For example, the Render>Render Properties>Details slider will affect LightCaps created from an environment.)

I’m just using the default settings with everything. under the LightCap menu, I’ve put two lights in and moved them around and hit BPR… ?

You should turn off any lights at the top of the Light palette when using LightCap. And what material are you starting with? That will also make a difference - though as I said, I’ve not seen this before and I can’t reproduce the issue.

I did have the lights turned off when using the lightcaps and I’ve tried normal materials as well as matcap materials just in case. I think I’m going to try reinstalling zbrush. Thank you for your help.
