Stereographic Art Using 3D Models

Hello All,

I am a retired papermaker now teaching high school physics. I admit I am not a very good artist , but I am clever. Several years back I created two new autostereographic techniques, Non-planar Stereography and Single Viewpoint Stereography. Traditional stereographic utilizes multiple camera viewpoints of a scene. SVS uses the perspective of one camera and multiple objects within the scene to create a 2D picture that has depth (like a 3d movie). Since it is an autostereogram, it can be viewed by slightly crossing your eyes to overlap adjacent objects. (sort of like Magic Eye, but opposite). I have attached two pictures for practice. Don’t worry if it takes a few minutes, it will eventually pop! And no, your eyes won’t get stuck!

I have a hobby website www.3dwonderstuff.com and I also have a lot of animated stereograms on YouTube. Just search for “xyoureyes”. I am getting more serious and am in the midst of overhauling my website. I need art.

The stuff I see on this site blows me away. The talent and creativity is incredible. I would invite you to learn the SVS technique and make some beautiful things. It is very easy to learn and since you have already created a scene, it is simply a matter of replicating objects and spacing them correctly. Really, take a look at the pics to see what I did.

I invented these techniques and I have been the only person to use them. You could be the first serious artist in the world to utilize them. So please contact me if you have the slightest interest. I guarantee if you invest an hour playing around with your existing models and my technique, you will be hooked.

Thanks, Barney Johnson, “xyoureyes”, Atlanta, Georgia
