Startup screen shortcuts...

Hi all, I was wondering, I’ve been using Z3 a little while now, and now when I start, my startup splash screen shows only my recently edited models, not the initial Zsphere, Superaverageman, etc. Is there any way to get these back? I’m especially wanting the standard Zsphere in Rapid UI mode back.

I read that you can delete your CustomUserInterface.cfg, but all that did was lose my user interface changes, it didn’t affect the startup screen at all.

Any ideas?

I’ve done a search on the forums, but must be using the wrong search strings. (startup screen, restore splash screen, etc)

i have the same problem with mine…

all ancient models are gone, i have to reload them all if i want them back to the startup.

I have the opposite problem…my startup screen never shows my recent work, only the default startup objects (sphere, default head, superaverageman, etc). Would be nice to have my recently edited objects there. Do you have to save a document first to get it to show up there? I have been saving my tools, but not saving a document. Maybe that’s it (for me).

I think the ‘recent files’ list is only saved if you use the buttons available from the Rapid UI ‘File’ menu. If you load ztools from the Tool menu they won’t be recorded.

To clear the recent file list and restore the default list, delete the StartupScript_RecentFiles.mem file in ZBrush3…ZStartup\ConfigFiles folder.

That’s better, thanks Marcus!
Slosh: I’ve never saved a ZBrush document - ever. I’ve only ever used it for sculpting, so I’ve only ever saved tools. Not sure why that’s happening for you.

Makes me think though, would be handy to have the option that would allow me to keep the Zshpere Rapid mode by default aswell as my recently edited files. Or to be able to scroll through them on the loadup screen.
