Hi,
I saved customized versions of brushes that I use the most (various sizes, intensity, lazymouse settings, etc) and overwritten the default ones so that I don’t have to redo it for every session.
However the standard brush always comes back to the factory defaults - same intensity, etc. ANy ideas?
hi @McNistor,
the standard brush is a somehow a system brush which is embedded into the executable with ZBrush, so if you want to edit that brush it has to be done at the ZBrush startup via a script.
Hope it helps,
Nicolas

Ah, I see. It’s peculiar though, because I clearly remember that this was possible without scripts in a few earlier versions of Zbrush. Alas, makes no difference now as I don’t know any scripting in Zb and I’m not willing to learn just for this.
Thanks for the info.
edit: if anyone else is interested in this, the workaround I decided to use is saving the Standard brush under a different name and assign my current hotkey to that instead.
if you can just list all settings you d like to have for the standard brush i could make a edit the startup zscript for you so it changes the settings at the next ZBrush reboot.

@facelessmindz Nah, what I have now is working just fine, but thanks a bunch for offering to help. I might take you up on this sometime in the future regarding some other issue, when it arises and if you’ll be willing.
Cheers!
edit: on a second thought, is there a way to disable LMB/pen tip navigation? I’m using RMB navigation and working on thin limbs/tubes/etc often results in rotating the object when I miss the geometry with the stroke.
Really wish there were an option in the prefs for disabling this, or at least, hopefully doable via scripting…
