Stan Winston passed away last night. I know a lot of us have been influenced by his work. A fair number have, in fact, studied his creations and posted our own versions over the years.
If folks could maybe link to those posts here, I think it’d be a nice tribute.

I love every Creation He and his Artists put into film. He was one of the Greats.

I am so saddened and shocked by this news.
Mr Winston was one of the few (Gifted/talented) people I would have loved to have met and had a conversation with.
He’s had a hand in many if not all of my favorite movies.
One truly gifted person has passed.

I’ll miss mostly his critiques. For no other man had his vision of what things should be and to what level they should be taken to… An opinionated man… with an educated eye for details. That is something that I will always cherish about him.

Only after hearing the news over at polycount. I suggest we organise a competition based on his work to to show our appreciation for all the great creations he has given us over the years.

RIP. He led a life most people never will. He did what he loved, and did it among the best. He will be missed.

I don’t post here much as my work keeps me pretty busy but I had to respond to this! Sad news indeed. He was an inspiration to so many.

Stan Winston has passed away. He was an amazing artist and designer and will be missed. Our thoughts go out to his family who should take heart in knowing that Stan’s designs have inspired countless other artists in creating fantastical creatures.
