Stability - Asset Dump

Alright guys… Today, I started on a new project I like to call “The Suicide Mission”. I’ve decided that I want to model, texture, light and shade ‘Stability’ by Sam Bosma in 3D, even though it’ll probably take the rest of my life to finish.

Here’s the first “asset dump” including everything I’ve managed to make so far

So, I don’t have a new asset ready today, but I DO have a tutorial for ya!

You can find the whole thing right here: http://emiliestabell.com/portfo…/painting-stylized-textures/

It’ll take you through the process of how I create the assets and how I paint my texture. Plus, you’ll be able to download my brushpack if you want to test the techniques yourself.

Almost impossible to say how much I love this. Really, really beautiful.
Thank you very much for your breakdown, it explains a lot.

As I visited your website, I know now a bit more about your style and get the link of a very cool green guy called Rajak I saw here once before at ZBC

It is a pleasure to see how you realize your visions and your style is a milestone in NPR CG imho.
Watching “Guam bay” I only thought that this amount of work is almost a bit wasted doing an animation and camera movements which could have been done in i.e. After Effects, 2D pictures, & puppet master.
I am very curious, if you’ll take your actual monster project a bit further into the third dimension?

Anyway, it is not surprising me, that your work is already honoured and you received some prices. Congratulations!!

Finally I would like to thank you for your PS brushes.
Drawing in PS felt always a bit odd for me. You brushes take at least away the pain of nice & quick blending. (Even in very slow CC2015 but ultra fast in CS5.5) Also the other brushes are feeling supernatural. Thanks so much!
If you are on a PC, I can really recommend the free verve painter app. It is king of blending. Just press SHIFT and your are smudging like in heaven, or STRG+SHIFT and blending is perfect. Really worth even it is alpha and has a lot of limitations still.
Maybe some possibilities are offering you can use for i.e. water color like texturing etc.? No one knows.

Thanks for sharing your workflow and keep up the really good work.

Thank you! Really appreciate it (:

As for Guam Bay, the animation was all made using After Effects, so I’m not certain what you mean here. For this giant project, I do intend to model it 360 so that you can actually take it for a spin. Will be fun!

Glad you like the brushes, and will have a look at verve painter. Thank you for all the feedback (; Have an awesome day!

Cheers

utterly cool. thanks a lot for the very cool breakdown, brushes and showing the picture.
