Splotchy textures from polypaint

Hi…

Trying to create a material ID map from polypaint, but it’s very splotchy and I don’t know why.

I have solid colors in polypaint:

But when I try to create a texture based on that, I get this:

It’s worse when creating from UVs:

But my UVs are near perfect:

What gives? Does it matter these pieces are overlapping, but not joined? I’ve also unwelded groups, but that doesn’t seem to matter.

Thanks!

Hi @pixel

The issue is probably with your UV map. ZBrush doesn’t like any of the UV islands touching the edge of the UV map space. You can easily scale down the islands as a whole in UV Master plugin. Flatten your UV map then using Scale (E) with the Gizmo3D enabled, scale them down a bit or you can scale them down in whatever other 3D app you use if it would be easier for you.

Thank you, ZBER2!

I shrank my UV islands to fit the space in ZBrush and everything worked fine. It’s just weird I’ve never had this problem until now.

Thanks again!
