Split Mesh into Polygroups by edge?

At the moment I use Lasso to hide a loop then Auto Polygroup unhide and merge the edge loop to one of the groups. I’m sure there must be a simpler way to split into groups ?

If working at lower polygon counts, Zmodeler has advanced polygrouping functions.

The Polygroup Palette has many features for auto- assigning polygroups.

At high poly, Polygroupit is a useful tool for assigning logical polygroups to complex surfaces.

However, the visibility and polygrouping shortcuts are always going to be critical to memorize to get many things done in zbrush. Failing all else, this is how you will manually assign polygroups to complicated meshes.

Try to work with the default rectangular selection marquee whenever possible. The lasso is more flexible, but much slower. With a strong command of Zbrush navigation, and fluency with the Selection Marquee shortcuts, the process will become second nature and you can work very quickly.

Thanks, will keep that in mind.
