hey i just downloaded this rather cool plugin for MAX which generates speech for you from phenome shaped morph targets. i thought i’d post here rather than the forum as it isn’t directly zbrush related. however i have manged some pretty good results(after a bit of tweaking to the phenome shapes)with a character i did in Zbrush. basically you just have to type in what the character is to say and the plug produces a synthetic voice you can replace with your own soundtack later and does all the morph target keys for you. you can get it here-Autovoxhave a great xmas everyone
Truespace from version 6.x: same thing, but still a lot of work and hazzle.
The more ZBrush (= sort of “uncontrolled mesh”) the more tweaking.
Actually, even motionbuilder does this. Motionbuilder is however a pretty advanced animation package. You can setup your microphone as part of the rig and attach certain areas of the mouth and motionbuilder will be able to sync what you do with your mouth and applies it onto the character.
Unfortunately, I can’t explain it on here. For more info, go to 3dbuzz.com sign up for a free account, go into the download section, and download the first motionbuilder video on from there.
