some stills from my reel (troll nudity)

Hi Guys,

I’ve been a big fan of this site over the years but I haven’t posted much, so I thought it was about time I did. These are stills from my show reel which I’m currently updating for my site.
Top image is from zbrush, all others are game character models rendered in max (mental ray) using the game colour, normal and spec maps. Zbrush was used for all the character sculpting and most of the texturing.
Hope you like them. Crits and comments welcome.
I think they could all do with a lot more time and effort but I probably won’t be able to get around to any changes for a while as i’m busy looking after the kids while the other half goes away on holiday and then I start a new job.
I’d still appreciate any input though.

Hey Darren,
These are looking great. You’ve got a realy cool cast of characters here.
I especially like the rhino beast. He feels realy heavy.
You should post a close up of the ape beast too if you get a chance. One of my favourites.

Wow, like how you built the underlying musculoskeletal structure. Is that for rigging?

AVT Pro. The different states weren’t for rigging they were just for character model variations in game. the variations used the same rig and mostly the same animations, but the less fleshy ones were alot weaker and easier to kill.

Ichiban: I’ll try to get some more shots of the other characters up over the weekend when a get a sec.

Love the muscle dudes. Are they animated yet? I’d like to see how they approached that for a game engine.

womball: these characters are all rigged and animated. you can see some cut scene examples on my reel and also Kemal Kemal is currently putting together a reel with a bunch of the game anims in so you’ll be able to see more of his great anims there. i’ll post a link when he’s done if he’s cool with that.

here’s a couple more renders of the death guard. i’ll post some of the other guys a bit later
