Some Inca Artifacts...

After posting a photo on Sloshs’ excellent ‘Inca Mummy’ thread, which I took at Expo 86, the Worlds’ Fair that was held here, I thought I’d post these I took as well…
One has a set of Rose Quartz teeth that were mounted in a skull, and the other two are a couple of views of a skull, from a person who has survived the first brain surgery, but required a second surgery which he did not survive…The instrument shown was used for the surgery, and the gold plate below the instrument is the first successful surgery, indicated by the growth of skull bone over the plate…
I thought you might like to see the proof of probably the earliest successful brain surgery on record, and if anyone wants a higher resolution copy, email me at [email protected], and I’ll hook you up!

The surgery…

I remember watching a documentary on this piece of history.

Amazing.

Thanks for sharing SC!

Fascinating bit of history Stonecutter!

Wowzers! I wonder if anyone would consider doing a pic of that brain surgery? (Hint, hint, Masters)
