Sneak Peek: ZBrush 2021

Great! I can’t wait until this updated version comes out.

For what i saw it is in 3D coat and is there since quite some time. About the echo, all people who create and brings new ideas make echoes over other people, that’s why we have civilizations and art, artists inspiring each other. The echoes go around all the time. The echo for this particular tool started (at the least) with 3D coat, someone like pablo had the idea there as someone at zbrush did it too looking at the other software. It’s exactly this “echo” what “inspiration” is or…just “copy”. Some people even call it stealing (Pablo did it, i mean Picasso). I personally see it as part of creativity, i don’t feel like i lost something when other people take my ideas, in fact i feel really good.

Let’s stay positive and help each other. Competition is good if it is helping each other the final goal, improving, not just to see “who’s the best”.

its amasing how zbrush keeps me so excited and always make the changes needed to be a step ahead thank you!!!

Dear Pixologic engineers and artists,
I’m not going to ask you for a rendering engine, but I do ask that other retouching applications can enter, not just photoshop. It would be nice to be able to export to Affinity, Rebelle3, or Krita. Affinity reads PSDs very well

I was actually talking with both Affinity developer and on chat with Pixologic about it - I am very interested as well as I switched to Affinity completely with my work.
Neither side is against it - for now biggest issue is that Affinity doesn’t have any scripting language so developing plugin would be that much harder to do. But it seems like it is not lost cause but rather matter of time.
Also Affinity showed some early preview of support for importing some 3D objects - I dont know exactly where are they going with it, whats the plan (considering PC version still needs support for 3D acceleration). Things are happening though and both parties are interested. It will happen, just not yet

Good news about the August 11th live-stream! Looking forward to it! :+1:

I am very happy that the zmodeler will finally be user-friendly. It is of an unnecessary complexity to use which makes it necessary to use other software.
I can’t wait to see a detailed demo.
Thanks !

wwwoww guys you are amazing really :v: :muscle:

This is going to be Great ! :+1:

Is it possible to use this with displacement map on a plane and have gravity fall onto a UV map to lay on a texture? As a fast way to apply a texture map.

IT JUST BEGUN :muscle: :muscle: :muscle: :crown:

Wow! This is mind-blowing!

ZBRUSH IS AWSOME ALWAYS. PIXOLOGIC GUYS ADD ANIMATION IN ZBRUSH LIKE MAYA. TRY TO MAKE IT A COMPLETE SOFTWARE. ITS GREAT ANYWAYS.

Loved the live-streamed introduction of the ZBrush 2021 features. Nice to see @Pavlovich join the show. He always manages to speed-inject ZBrush knowledge into your brain like the Matrix “I know Kung-Fu” scene. :slightly_smiling_face:

Looking forward to try the new features. I’ll have to impatiently wait until 8:00 PM over here in the Netherlands (CET).

Thanks for another great free update, Pixo team, much appreciated! :+1:

Awwww come on get it out there. What is a couple of hours? Took two days off from teaching to use and learn 2021. Should have been two weeks. As always awesome job thank you. Come on you guys on the west coast we need and want it now.

Sorry forgot to ask… Will ask Zbrush and zclassroom feature all these wonderful new features? one hell of a new learning curve.

wohooooooooo almost there!! Cant wait !! CLOTH BRUSH !!!

With some of the simulations of the truck, looks like a great tool for forensic investigators or UL testing labs!

Yes, absolutely, Blender modelling tools are what they are because ZBrush is the standard and they follow… I didn’t use the word copying or tried to start one of those silly 3D software wars. I just happen to know the work that Pablo put developing these brushes in blender and I think it was fair to talk about it because we all benefit from it.
Now that I have seen the ZBrush cloth brushes in action I have to say that they pushed the idea to another level making it really unique. What I like the most is the way they understood that just simulating cloth wasn’t going to be a game changer, they gave us a lot of artistic control over the simulation and that’s brilliant and beyond my expectations. I hope they keep pushing in this direction. I’m really impressed.
