Snapshot 3d intensity

hi
when we create hardsurface objects with snapshot 3d , the alpha has nice hard edges , but the created model is curved and smooth. any way to solve it? if no ,where to report it?
thanks

Hello @naghi ,

The results of Snapshot 3d can be adjusted in Preferences> Spotlight. These following 4 settings will determine the smoothing results you get:

snapshotcorners

In some cases simply enabling “Snapshot Detect Corners” will do the trick. Other more complicated alphas may require more deliberate tweaking of the Smoothing and “Retain Corners” values.

The size/resolution the mesh is being generated at may also play a part. Especially low res meshes may not be able to achieve very crisp results.

thank you. it worked
any option to change the polygon density?

Yes. This is a function of the Alpha size in relation to the canvas. The larger the space the Alpha occupies in the canvas, the greater the polycount of the resulting mesh will be.

In other words, scale your Alpha larger with the Spotlight dial. You may also need to zoom in closer on on the target mesh in order to accommodate the larger alpha.
