Smoother mesh ?

I’m trying to sculpt the muscles in zBrush so they look like the C4D mesh on the left.
with a mouse on a desk top PC,yes I’m sculpting with a mouse so I don’t even know if it can be done but if it can be done with a mouse.
how ?

is there a auto balance setting some where or a brush or something some where ?

If I just smooth with the smooth brush it just smooth’s out the bumps but it’s still bumpy.
I’m open to any and all suggestions on how to do this with a mouse.

yes I’m saving pennies for a new Wacom tablet.
you done with that recyclable beer can

Thanks

Are you using sub division levels? How about masking? Have you poked around in the various panels for settings and tweaked them? There’s more than one type of smoothing operation.

Sculpt at lower-mid levels of subdivision to build up form. Sculpt on higher resolutions for finer detail. Generally dont start working on higher sub d until you have accurate form established. Smooth is much more powerful at low-mid level poly resolution. Make use of the clay brushes (Clay, Clay Tubes), to build up form and detail in layers of overlapping strips.

thanks for all the tips.
I’m making some progress but still a long long away from where I want to be.

is it even possible to get as good results with a mouse as a intous pro medium ?

You can get perfectly good results with a mouse. The only difference is the fine pressure variations a Wacom gives will be harder to get with a mouse. Scott’s post is the nail on the head here, block out the shapes at low subD, try avoid doing it all at higher ones.
