Smooth brush to weak/ Dynamic brush to small

Hi all,

I have gone through the complete forum but couldn’t find an answer to my questions.

  1. models are "real size "and prepared in cm. I can use the normal brushes but as soon as I want to smooth them out there is very little effect on it. Sculpting and creating wrinkles, etc. are totally impossible. I already tried to look into the options for the smooth brush but no slider provided me any solution. Some said to reduce to lower poycount level - also this was not helping me at all.How can I get the smooth brush to work as expected in Zbrush?

  2. it seams Zbrush is not made for real size sculpting. I have this assumption since the biggest dynamic brush it still to small/ tiny. So basically, this super cool feature cannot be used since I always need to turn dynamic off. Is there something I can do to resolve this behavor in Zbrush?

Thanks a lot for your support,
micky

There are a ton of different options for you actually. But a little more information on your part might be needed.

How are you importing the mesh into Zbrush?
goZ will take your mesh’s object bounds and scale it down during import to work best within Zbrush and scale it back up to the original during export. This should allow you to work at any realworld scale and work within what Zbrush prefers as well.

You can also do this manually in a couple of different ways.
There are import and export options and scales. You’ll find the options in both the import/export section of the preferences tab as well as an import and export set on the tool tab. There is also a scale setting you can find inside of the subtool panel as well I believe.

You could use tool.deformations.unity which will force scale the object into Zbrush’s preferred scale as well, but this is not a reversible option. But you can always export out your mesh and scale it back up to match your original mesh in whatever other application you are using (most likely).

Your mesh should fit within the tool.preview window. If it is far too large or far too small you’ll notice that most brushes don’t behave correctly.

Hope this helps a little.
