Small Bug in 2021.6.2 with Dynamesh Groups

hey guys,

there is a small bug with dynameshing and groups turned on.
the groups don’t have the same resolution in the latest version but instead get denser the smaller the group is.
or is there an option to turn this off?
i looked thru the panels but couldn’t find anything.

cheers chris

Hello @Chrischan,

This is actually working as intended. There was a change made to address the issue of meshes that are too small in the ZBrush worldspace sometimes not able to receive enough resolution from Dynamesh, even with maximum resolution set in the Dynamesh menu. Now meshes that fall below certain size thresholds will receive a resolution multiplier to ensure the shape can be captured accurately regardless of the size.

I am not aware of a way to disable it in the current version.

ah okay, an option would be cool then
because using this on a mannequin for example it is hard to work with if you don’t want to fuse it all together.

Apparently, if you scale your Tool so that all Subtools are larger than 1x1x1 then the multiplier is not applied.

ha, weird

I would love to have an option to disable this.
It greatly disturb my workflow.

I would also like to disable this… It is very annoying having to adjust each subtool to a different number. Another workaround is merging a cube or something at the upper limit and lower limit of the zbrush 1x1x1 world space of each subtool so that zbrush thinks they are all the same size. What a headache though!

Thanks again to the Pixologic Team for adding an option in the latest update!!:slight_smile:
