Slow viewport update when tweaking materials (4R7 Patch1, Mac OS 32-bit)

Hi,

I’m following a tutorial on creating materials and I’ve added one of the standard ZBrush textures as a background for Environmental Reflections (under menu ‘Light’ -> Background).

I’ve increased the ‘Env.Reflection’ slider to 25 and added some ‘Reflection Blur’ (25) to the DoubleShader material. After this ZBrush needs to render for like 25-30 seconds every time I make any changes or tweaks to the other shader settings… this doesn’t feel right (the update in the tutorial just seems to be 1-2 seconds at NORMAL SPEED)?

I understand it’s the blur setting that slows everything down, but it makes it pretty impossible to tweak a material when it updates this slow. After it’s been updated then I can pan around like normal, but as soon as I make any changes then it has to update for almost 30 seconds… Is this some bug or are there any settings I can change to make the viewport update faster? (I’m on a MacPro 2014 with 32gb ram)

Thanks!
