SliceCirc quesiton

hi
i was watching Paul Gaboury’s video where he uses SliceCirc to add 4 symmetrical circle polygroups to the front of a polysphere.

(happens at around 3:09)

i tried to recreate what he did but SliceCirc always slices through to the back of the polysphere, where the front and back both has a circle polygroup. Unlike Paul’s video, when he did it, only the front of the polysphere was affected by the slice, the back did not get affected.

I tried hiding the back half of the sphere, which did not work. Also tried masking the back, although the polygroup was not added at the back, I can still see the outline of it at the back.

thanks in advance!

I’m confused, he’s not doing anything like that at 3:06. He’s polishing edges.

However, if you use slice circle or curve or square it only works on the visible polygons. So, if you hide the back, it should definitely work. I do it all the time.

ah just realized there are multiple videos on that page which are different depending on which chapter you’re on.
Thanks for your help Gordon!
