Slice object

Seems like a newbie question but I’m stuck. Since the Curve Slice brush has changed in R5 I cant figure out how to simply slice an object up and make the internal cuts appear as one solid face. I don’t want thickness or bevels ( though I’m lovin’ the Panel Loops function) I know I’m missing something simple. Please help

Assumed, you did cut the object. What did you do next with the mesh?

I don’t wish to appear rude but I didn’t do what I needed to do obviously, otherwise I wouldn’t be asking. What should I be doing?

Each slice should be its own polygroup. You could split each into it’s own subtool (tool: subtool: groupsplit), and then use tool: geometry: close holes to patch them up with a crisp bevel-less edge.

Thanks Cyrid, that was my ‘workaround’. I’m sure back in the day the Slice Curve brush used to do this in one go. Is that really the only way to do it now? Cheers.
