Slice by mesh intersection

Hi,

I’m wondering if it’s possible to slice polygroups where meshes intersect?

It would be great to quickly create 3D models using the ZBrush 2019 Spotlight alpha to mesh features, then easily create polygroups where the generated meshes intersect.

The Intersection Masker zPlugin is a workaround, but it isn’t straightforward slicing. You’ll need to convert the resulting mask to a polygroup first, then fiddle with Polish By Groups to get rid of the blockiness, resulting in rounded polygroup borders with diminished detail and sharpness.

Looking at the current Union, Subtract and Intersect Live Boolean options, a Slice option would be a very useful addition in my humble opinion.

A slice at the intersection boundary - hm nice idea.
Have you mailed Paul at Pixologic to suggest it?

Thanks Mark. I haven’t e-mailed Paul about this. I’ve kind of bombarded him with suggestions lately, so I thought to leave his mailbox alone this time and ask it over here. :slightly_smiling_face:
