Sketching annotations over 3D model and viewport?

Hey guys,

Let’s say you’re working on a 3D model, wanted to temporarily sketch some annotations over the viewport, clear the annotations and then jump right back into scuplting; what would be the most streamline way to do this?

The best I can manage at the moment is to choose either the PaintBrush or SimpleBrush from the Tool menu, sketch the annotations and then hit Ctrl+N to clear the canvas when finished. The problem is that 1) you have to readjust the brush size each time 2) the model needs to be placed back on the canvas which means that the scale and orientation needs to be adjusted. Both steps take time.

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Most people use software such as camtasia or the like to do this.

Thanks beta_channel! I was able to find a free alternative from Microsoft called ZoomIt. The application has the ability to run as a background service and can be invoked at any time with a custom hotkey combination of your choice:
