Lookin good. I can’t wait to see the finished product. Nice start!
Looking good, can’t wait to see this go further
Love the sketch so far, Liam. The mesh is pretty detailed, so I can’t wait to see more work!
UPDATE:
Here’s the skull I’ve been working on! This is a little mock-up I did for a class homework this past week and I’m planning on integrating it into the final design.
More to come soon!
Big fan of skeletor, good luck man, looks great so far.
alright - just to let people know too, this is what I’ve been working on for the current “hardcore modeling” challenge over on CGtalk ( http://forum.cgcharacter.com/forumdisplay.php?f=208 )
I’m planning on finishing at the very least the Skeletor model, but if I can do it in time for the deadline (a couple weeks), or just for fun, I’m going to be trying to model good ol’ skeletor’s minions as well.
Starting with the guy I was debating doing in the first place of course - the B.A.M.F. that is Trapjaw.
Here’s the WIP head of him that I worked on for one of my in-class exercises about two weeks ago - there is still quite a bit of work I could do just on this head alone but we’ll see how far I get!
I’d love it if you could give me all your comments and suggestions on him and what I might do to go further.
Here’s a turnaround of the head so far:
I am liking what you are doing. The idea of it. However your mesh, the shoulders come out to far, and to me the arms are to big, they do not seem proportion to the rest of the body. It could just be me. Keep up the good work.
Hey mate, your progression is looking good so far. My main critique is on your model for the skull. It’s tough to describe so I drew in a few anatomical changes, which can either be easily implemented into this current model or used for future reference.

The nasal bone doesn’t seem to be popping out. Think of it as a shelf for all the tissue that hangs off of this bone to create our nose. The occipital bone is a little long. I’ve drawn where the average skull will end , but everyone is different and varies in size. Everything is else looking great!
thanks. Yeah the arms and legs still need a bit of work on that particular shot - I did need to post what I had though. I’ll be posting the updated version hopefully tomorrow.
Thanks for the point-outs! I was fiddling with the nasal bone a bit and I definitely think you are right. The drawing in was a helpful aid - I’ll probably pull the length of the skull back a bit in the end.
on another note, does anyone know where there is some good help with building and working with cloth? Capes and hoods for example, as he’ll be needing them soon but I’m not that great with them. I know there’re some cool ways to get really nice forming around the body and folds/wrinkles, but I’m not experienced with it.
