Hi,
I have a question. I like to use Corel painter for 2d artwork. I typically use a 24x36 inch layout with a 300 resolution for a best print scenario . I want to use my 3d sculpture and spotlight to paint it with my 2d artwork. If I get a Document export in a psd file of a sculpture I will max the size of the file and use the highest level of geometry divisions that I can . What I get in the psd file is a small image that I have to enlarge to my Corel 2d file. I use good resizing software , but when I enlarge the small document psd file a lot of the edge lines will be jagged or pixilated . Is there some way I can improve on my problem ? Thanks for any help as it would save me time cleaning up my image. :)
You can change the Document size in the Document menu. ZBrush has a maximum of 8192 pixels but a size of 5400 x 8100 will give you the pixel dimensions for 24 x 36 inches at 225 dpi.
Turn off the Pro button and then set the pixel dimensions in the Width and Height sliders before pressing Resize. You will then need to clear the canvas (Ctrl+N) before click+dragging to redraw your model. Press the Edit button to re-enter Edit mode and you can then position and scale your model. (If you get a brush stroke full of little versions of your model, Ctrl+N to clear again then in the Stroke palette select the Dots stroke then the DragRect stroke. Draw out the model agian and press Edit.)
You’ll need to zoom out of the canvas to see it all - use the Zoom slider in the Document palette. This won’t affect the export image size. You’ll probably find that ZBrush gets a bit sluggish with such a large canvas but if you do a render and export the result (using the Document>Export button) you’ll get an image of 5400 x 8100.
HTH,
Yes, that works great . I tried it with a sphere. But I have a new problem. Is there any way I can control the size of my object in my new document. When I redraw it the object fills the screen so that I can’t judge the relation of the size of the object to the size of the document… thanks scowler
Zoom the whole document out until you can see the border, then you will be able to see the object in relation to the work area.
Thanks again you guys are great!
