Simple extrude action - Seemingly not possible

Perhaps I’m overlooking a function in ZModeler, but can’t seem to find a solution.

This simple extrude action, followed by the desire to widen the surface, doesn’t seem to be possible in ZBrush.

Couldn’t attach this image, as the forums claim it’s an invalid URL.

Any suggestions? Or a limitation?

There’s more than one way to extrude, and a number of actions you can perform after the extrusion, like Scale.

For the finest control over any selection, use the Transpose action. It will automask all but the selection, and take you to Transpose mode where you can move, scale, or rotate the selection with precision.

You can also extrude the unmasked selection directly with Transpose mode, by Ctrl-dragging on the middle circle in move mode, holding shift to constrain the extrusion along the action line.

After so many years of using ZBrush I’ve only just learned there is a Transpose Smart Masking! By the time I get to the end of learning this programme I will have forgotten the first half - Or maybe I did know about TSM and simply forgot it again!

Funny, you can use Inset a poly with zModeler, but not expand it outside of it bounds.

Anyways, you can also extrude the poly, make a 2 polyloops on extruded sides, and then use QMesh with faceloop mode to push that belt inside.
