Silo2 vs. Mudbox. Vs. Spore vs. Zbrush 2.5 vs. Hex2 Vs. Modo Vs. Bioware's MMORPG

Hi, I didnt think there was quite enough pavlovian Hype and speculation going on here in the “community” forum, so I thought I’d provide a launchboard here for the type of hypefest that developers covet and go out of their way to engineer and are oh so useful to application-centered user communties.

Here, I’ll start:

I heard from a friend who has the mudbox beta (not legitimately of course…I think maybe 10 people in the world are in the Mudbox beta legitimately) that on hi end machines Mudbox will actually physically massage your more sensitive body parts while you work.

Also, I have it on good authority, Bioware’s as yet untitlled MMORPG in early development, will in fact be the greatest thing ever in the history of man, solve all world problems, bring an end to war, and fill all the emtpy places in your soul. In addition, while not explicitly designed for this purpose, it will also function as a “ZBrush-Killer”.

Upcoming versions of many products will actually have either overlapping or “Zbrush-killing” functionality. These products include , but are not limited to, the following: the next version of every major and minor 3D and 2d graphics application( except ZB 2.5), haptic devices, gaming mice, Wacom cintiq tablets, the new Playdough fun-packs, next-gen I-Pods, Microsofts I-pod killer, Blu-Ray DVD, the new PS3, Spiderman 3, the new Aaron Sorkin prime time comedy, Legos, “Chia-brush”, as many as 5 Online Google program-services currently in development, and spray-cheese.

Also, have you guys seen the Crysis screenshots?

but it’s obvious, Mudbox has a special feature designed especially for the bowel inept artist, to help with just that scenario, modo, who’s frodo+maya amalgam, ahas a mac centric universal binary that’s so crash proof, it’ll make your freudian anal retentive compulsion everytime you pray to god that the pc will boot, just this once without a blue screen, just disappear…it will, however, only clean your bathroom grout and maybe, your $2K spinners riding low on your civic/crx pimped out layered shader mobile…but that is all conjecture…now if we could only get Silo2 to stop all of this missile madness in the mideast, our garden of 3den would be…

So far none of the mentioned product do everything ZBrush does.

Need to wait and see what the future brings. I am sure it will be amazing and so will ZBrush.

I say enjoy the progress and development and use the tools you like and can afford. Everything else is speculation garbage until product actually hit the market.

Changed my mind. Forget it. No way to delete posts that I can see.

VS COREL DRAW, VS PAINTSHOP PRO, VERSUS BIOMAN 2, VS PACMAN VS STREETFIGHTER ALPHA PLUS

You summup pretty well the situation man!

holy cow lemo! are you a beta tester on that? i’ve been trying to get on and they just won’t write me back. put in a good word will ya?

I dunno…I think lemonnado must certainly be violating NDA with his cutting edge beta screenshots. Try to keep it above board here, lemo…we dont want this thread getting locked…I think we can all agree its far too important.

Thanks for reminding me… Dang… that could have been trouble… Oh Boy!
I changed the Screen shot accordingly!
Lemo

PS:Now it’s REALLY intriguing lol.

Shame!

I am a SWM, 6’2” and I enjoy climbing Mt. Everest and saving drowning seals

WOOPS! My Bad wrong thread :o

Since everone else is trashing their NDA’s I can’t keep this in any longer. I’m working on the most user freindly versatile CG program since Eve ate Adams Apple. The screen shots will speak for themselves:eek:

I’m toying around with the idea of naming it “Postit” or “Number2Lead” What do you think.

WoW…pencil and paper! This is brilliant. Not only does its functionality overlap with ZB in some ways with a built in auto-save, its got a rock bottom price too. Zbrush killer for sure!

DoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooM!

WOW! And you can even create an animation… THAT will definitelly have an impact. Does Version 2 come with red, green and blue pens?
Lemo

oh my i thought they quit developing that app. that topo tool looks sweet! the undo on it sure looks intuitive! rgb pen would help a lot on keeping track of your xyz. hope that makes the wish list!

I dunno … it looks pretty complicated to me. Is there a user manual? Judging by the teeth marks on the Retopology tool it’s not as intuitive as you’d have us believe.

nah. that’s just from excessive testing. i used it years ago and once you get the hang of the interface, it’s a breeze!

Now that’s what I call animation software. No fiddling with blend shapes and phonemes. Just straight out dialog and realtime, as-you-draw rendering. And completely independent of system specs, so even poor freelancers like me can get good results. I’m pretty sure I saw this demoed in the Technology section at Siggraph. What was it called… Flipback? Flipbook? Something like that…

Heard there was an update to Number2Lead,
but the company keeps postponing it. Possible bugs.

The pressure sensitivity is, apparently, quite awesome. But I’ve got to warn prospective early-adopters that you have to fork out for various peripherals … sharpeners, a little tub to keep your tools in and whatnot. It soon adds up.

Shhhhhhhhhhhhhh:ex: Not supposed to reveal that just yet:cry: The sharpener is broken and Office Depot got them on back order. There is a workaround for insiders, but keep it to yourselves for now:rolleyes: I’ve posted an image below.
