Side symmetry combined with radial symmetry?

Hello everybody,

I have a question regarding to the symmetry function in Zbrush. I wonder if it is possible or someone knows a way on how to combine the normal symmetry (symmetry on the opposite side) with the radial symmetry. Basically what I want to do is having a box/column where I sculpt on one face with normal symmetry activated. Just like this:

However I want to simultaneously sculpt the (normal symmetry) on all of the other sides of the box (like the radial symmetry set to 4) as well. Like this:

When I just use the normal radial symmetry I am only able to sculpt on 1 side of each face, but not on both sides simultaneously how I want it to be.

One workaround for me on how to get my symmetry on all 4 faces would be to use the symmetry/mirror function inside 3Ds Max or Maya and then rotate by 90° the symmetry/mirror pivot and project the symmetry on all of the 4 faces.

I hope someone could help me out and give me an approach on how to do it in Zbrush.

Best regards

Unfortunately you can’t do that. What you could do is sculpt a plane to create an Alpha 3D brush. You could then simply apply that to the column using radial symmetry.

Thank you very much for your answer!

Maybe the requested functionality could be a future addition to ZBrush like an advanced symmetry option etc. as I have read some recent threads where some people also had symmetry related questions similar to this one.
