Shoaib Z Malik - Sketchbook

Hello Everyone,
Wow, this place is just amazing… so much great artists around. I have been wanting to start my own sketchbook thread for quiet sometime… so here it goes now…
I will be updating the thread regularly… hopefully…

First one is the model and variation i created about more than a couple of years ago for the game called ‘Cricket Revolution’ at Mindstrom Studios.

The color map of the uniforms was painted by Mr. NasarUllah Khan.

here is another image I quickly created. Base mesh created in 3ds Max, then detailed and poly painted in Zbrush. and later on composited in Photoshop.

Ok, so here is the ‘Goblin’. He is an old, wise but is cunning, has been the front-line trooper in lots of battles. Apart from being just the warrior, he learned some magical spells and tricks from the undead sorcerer. So now he carries different potions and uses them during the battle to crumple down his foes.
I created the base mesh in 3ds max and now I imported it into Zbrush and started detailing.

I like the clan warrior:)

thanx Santis, I am glad you liked it mate.

well, here is another speed sculpt. It took me a couple of hours to complete the head and texture it inside Zbrush.

You have some good overall skills, but I think you need to look at and maybe draw some skulls to understand what’s really going on under the shape of the head. You have potential so do keep going.

I started off with a simple base mesh and then detailed and textured this male torso within Zbrush.

the anatomy study is really beautiful!

impressive Anatomy work really impressive!
awesome texture! realism achieved!
:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:small_orange_diamond:+1:For Shure!

Very good. Except, I think there is too much rib, or muscle detail in the lower back. Too lumpy or something. The clavicle area looks a bit odd, too.

Quoting Derek “too much rib, or muscle detail in the lower back”.

The back is pretty much “flat” and “smooth”. And the side of the abnominal area has to much “ribs”, or in this case I bet it’s supposed to be these muscles covering the abs. They dont go so far down. And there is something wrong at the bottom, like a fifth row.

The texture is superb, and so are the rest of the sculpt. So really just minor adjustments to get it as 100% as it’s possible

oh wow, great details… I loved the anatomy thread… And rest of the models are superb too. :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1: :+1:

WOW! Nice anatomy!

I love that torso… and that texture! Looks impressive to me.

The only thing looks odd to me is the wrinkles in the lower back. That part is usually flatter… But I don’t know, judging by your front, I think you know anatomy

Thanx alot guys, I am glad that you guys liked it. it was actually a speed sculpt. The whole exercise took about 3 hours from sculpt to render.

Nattawat_Obbi, Ardox & maya: Thanx alot gentlemen.

Derek, Victor & Ruben:I appreciate the feedback and I am really glad that you guys liked the work. Actually during the sculpting session i was looking at references and some of them were of fantasy creatures… so perhaps that kinda drove me in this direction of sculpt where i exaggerated the lower back… perhaps, its not suitable for this kind of sculpting session for sure…

Once again… thanx alot… you guys have been great support and stick around…
