It works for me. Keep in mind it works better on lower subdivisions–the denser the mesh, the more resistant it is to smoothing in general–and it isn’t 100% magic. It wont absolutely preserve the volume. You can still “melt” the mesh, especially thin portions. It’s just more resistant to it.
