Setting Imbed Depth Defaults?

Is it possible to establish a specific imbed depth for an IMM? I’ve been designing rock insert meshes that are intended to be imbedded into the surface but each mesh that is drawn seems to have an arbitrary imbed value.

How can I set my IMMs to always imbed at 0?

Thanks!

The imbed amount is set using ‘Brush > Depth > Imbed’ slider. This setting is saved when you save the brush (Brush > Save As). If you have an IMM brush with multiple inserts (ie: IMM Bricks with 40 inserts) , then you will have to adjust the Imbed amount for each insert before you save the brush.

hrm…I’ve gone into Depth and set the Imbed to zero for each subtool that I used in my IMM. They still all come in at (seemingly) random depths when I paint them.

I know it’s gotta be something I’m overlooking or doing wrong.

Don’t adjust it on the subtools. Make the adjustments after you have created the InsertMesh brush.

Ah, so I made a temp IMM from all of the subtools and then went into the IMM and reset all of the Depth Imbed values to 0 and that seemed to do the trick.

Thank You!

:+1: Excellent!

I will reiterate this for anybody else viewing this thread.

After you have created your InsertMultiMesh brush, with the brush selected, press ‘M’ key and select the first insert. Adjust the Imbed slider. Press ‘M’ key again and select the second insert. Adjust the Imbed slider. Press ‘M’ key again and select the third insert. Adjust the Imbed slider. etc, etc. Save your brush when done.
