Hello,
I am looking to use the touch rings on my wacom to control other sliders besides just brush. Is it possible to set a touch ring to control a different slider, such as z intensity?
Thanks.

Yes.
If you go into your Wacom Tablet settings you should see a touch strip or touch ring section. It should be under the Tool:Functions area. From there you can set the touch strip (touch ring) to different keystrokes, e.g., Cycle layers, brush size, zoom, etc. You just need to set it to the shortcut keystroke you want, in your case the Z-Intensity. If there is no default shortcut for Z-Intensity (Don’t remember if there is or not as I use space to adjust my brush settings) then you can set one up and then set your Wacom touch ring to match.
Hope that helps.
There are hotkeys for those sliders but all they do is bring up the slider at the cursor position. They don’t adjust the slider itself. AFAIK, except for Draw Size, the only way to adjust sliders is with the pen or LMB.
Z Intensity - U
Rgb Intensity - I
If there’s no increase/decrease shortcut for Z-Intensity it could be done with a script and then applied to shortcut keys.
Yes, maybe Marcus can come up with something. He made a plugin called Nudge, but that just moves sliders in small increments. I don’t think that could be used in this case though.
I imagine it’d be the same as the brush size plugin. Could set the increment just like the brush size one, or even use the same increment as the sizing. I might even have part of the code laying around when I setup some default scripts I use. Wouldn’t take much to add one for the Intensity and Focal Shift. I’ll have to check on Monday.
Thanks so much for everyone’s help. It would be great to see this become a reality.
Eureka!
After some research, I came across a script which needed to be Modified slightly to fit my needs. I can now set hoykeys to control the sliders increments up and down. Now I just simply assign the hotkeys to my touch ring.
Plugin: Draw Slider Controls - Assign hotkeys to
Focal Shift: up, down
Z Intensity: up, down
RGB Intensity: up, down
Also came across this which is very awsome, but has no rgb intensity…
