Selecting the Tool (Model) and switch to EditMode?

I am beginner user of ZBrush3.
I haven’t understood how to select the previous Tool, after I have created new one.
My situation:
I have loaded tool from Tool:Load Tool (“tool 01”).
I have Clicked and Dragged in the viewport to create the Model. At this time I can switch to Edit Mode and modify the Tool (Model). OK!
After that, I have loaded new tool: Tool:Load Tool (“tool 02”). I have clicked newly in the viewport and dragged to create this second model.OK!

This time, I can switch to Edit Mode for this last created model (“tool 02”), but I can’t switch Edit Mode for the first Model (“tool 01”)!
Why?
I have tried to select the icon of “tool 01” from the Tool Palette, but I cannot enter in Edit Mode!

How can I do to switch Edit Mode from one model to another? Is it possible or I can manage just the last model I created in Zbrush3?

What you want to do is draw the first model, enter edit mode, then select the second model in the Tool menu. ZBrush will replace the first one with the second one.

If you need to be able to see both of them on the canvas at once, then you should draw the first one and enter edit mode, then use Tool>SubTools>Append to add the second as a subtool. You can then move it into place relative to the first (if necessary) and switch between them via the SubTools menu.

OK! I have understood the append button and the subtools…I have already used them.
But if I have created, for error, one second model without entering in EditMode and without replace the first model with the second model, how can I do to rescue the Edit Mode of the first model? Is it possibile or not?

No, it’s not possible. Simply press Ctrl+N to clear the canvas of everything except what’s currently in Edit mode, and then append your other model onto the current one.

Don’t worry, all changes to the model are not lost when you clear the canvas. So clear, redraw the tool, and away you go. Just be sure to save the tool when done.
