Selecting connected polygons - an easy way?

Hi all, I have added a number of details (too many) to the same tool and I want to remove some of the IMMs I have added and put in another subtool. Is there an easy way to click on a part of a tool and have Zb select or mask just the polygons it is physically attached to?

In Modo for example I just double click in polygon mode and it selects all polys that are physically attached. I have been doing this and using GoZ (with mixed results but I suspect I need to learn more about GoZ) to separate the polys - but there has to be an easier way surely!!

I recognise that I can avoid some of thee issues with better planning but be good to know how to do this easily.

Many thanks for any help.

Cheers
Steve

Tool:SubTool:Groups Split might work.

Thanks for that, did not quite work in my example, but “split to similar parts” did as I was dealing with IMMs. Also, auto-subgrouping helped as well.

Still be interested in other solutions.

Thanks again
Steve
