Select Polygroup Without Edge Selection

Hello!

I often separate objects out by Polygroups and want to isolate them by Ctrl+Shift+clicking on them.

What happens is that it often selects and hides an edge loop instead of hiding the entire Polygroup. I use a Cintiq and would like to not have to switch to a mouse and try to have pinpoint accuracy to make sure I don’t grab an edge.

I know that with ZBrush there’s usually a way to do what I need to do, but I haven’t figured out what it is.

I’ve tried holding Option or Command while doing my selection by it didn’t eliminate the possibility of selecting an edge. I don’t see anything that jumps out in the Polygroups panel either.

Is there a way to prevent hiding edge loops and always hide the entire group with Ctrl+Shift+clicking a Polygroup?

Thanks!

You probably just have the wrong Stroke enabled. While holding down Ctr+Shift, and selecting the Lasso stroke, you can hide an entire edge loop by clicking on one of it’s edges. Hold down Ctrl+Shift and select the Rect stroke. That should alleviate selecting a loop instead of a polygroup.

That works!

I love using the lasso, but if I have to switch that’s not a problem.

Thanks!

You’re welcome! :+1:
