See-through - OS X El Capitan - Full Screen Mode

Dear Pixologic Team,

i´m not sure if this is a Mac OsX Problem, or my Mac / System is too old:

I´m on A Mac Pro (early 2009) 2,93 GHZ Quad Intel Xeon Machine with
El Capitan 10.11 - no retina display - but a cintiq 22 hd with a resolution of
1920 x 1080 pixels.

when in full screen mode - the slider See-through does not show the things
„behind“ Zbrush but a black screen.

If i´m out of the fullscreen mode - maybe this has to do with the settings of
the font size ? - see-through works like in previous versions but the menus
have a slight offset and i can´t press the icons right.

Maybe this has bee already addressed ?

All the best,

Cosmic Ollie

Is this for ZBrush (not ZBrushCore - this is the Core forum)? I can reproduce the full screen problem using Sierra. And it occurs with both ZBrush 4R8 and ZBrushCore.

I suspect it is to do with how the Mac OSX sets full screen and not something ZBrush will have control over. But I’ll let the developers know.

For the interface offset problem, does this only occur when using see-through? I’ve not been able to reproduce it. But I do remember a similar thing happening in earlier versions of ZBrush. That was related to custom UIs. Are you using a custom UI? If so, it’s advised to rebuild it within 4R8 rather than use one from 4R7 or earlier versions. Because of the interface changes problems can occur otherwise.

Hi marcus,

sorry - i accidentally posted this in the wrong thread. i´m on the full Zbrush version 4r8 here.

what you wrote was the same what i was thinking:

I heard about that OS X handles the internal memory / cpu usage etc. with a „clever“ management in
the background and „shuts down“ other - not used applications when there are some open
windows in the front or when in fullscreen mode.

So the developers of zbrush aren´t the ones to blame.

Concerning the ui - i transfered my custom ui from earlier Zbrush versions to the new 4r8.
I´ll take your advice and will rebuild the ui new - i also thought about that this could produce
the strange behaviour.

i´ll let you know when i did this and if the error still occurs.

one thing i can tell you at this point: if i start zbrush - windowed mode - the problem is there
that buttons are offset

if i switch to fullscreen mode - and then back to windowed mode - the alignment of mouse / underlying
buttons is back to correct and works - maybe this helps the developers to narrow down the „error“

maybe this behavior is different on more modern systems / screen setups with eg retina displays ?

It is basically not a big deal - i don´t use see through that often - but pixologic gave us so much over
all these years - when i can help even it is only a little bit.

thank you, cu you later & kind regards

Ollie
