I have divided my model, but the SDIV slider doesn’t become enabled.
Does anybody see why?

After I removed all masking, it worked.

Your mesh appears to be partially masked. If you subdivide when partially masked, the mesh will only be partially subdivided in the unmasked areas. This does not create a new subdivision level, so no SDiv slider.
Clear any masking, then subdivide again.
