Sculpting over Maya obj help needed.

Hello I’m a game art student currently trying to learn how to model characters and I was supposed to make a character from Zbrush but since I had some history in Maya thought I would start my blockout in Maya and then export it over to Zbrush so I would have the correct topography from the get-go. Problem I have at the moment is even though usually, i can sculpt really high poly meshes in ZBrush without an issue when i try to do the same over my Maya subtool its really laggy and the sculpting brushes don’t work as well as they should, I ain’t sure either how to use zremesher or dynamesh in a way that would retain my models form and topography or if i have to just start over. Any help and workflow tips would be greatly appreciated.

Make sure you don’t have dynamic subDs turned on as well. That’s usually the offender if you’re experiencing a lot of lag.
