Sculpting on multiple sub-tools

Does anyone know if its possible to sculpt on multiple subtools? I am working on a Female/snake creature and have a nude female that is finished in zbrush and wanted to use this models upper body in combination with a seperate subtool mesh that makes up the lower portion/snake body. Since the nude mesh has legs I cannot create a snake body out of that. I have used zproject to match the 2 sub tools, which works great for the final result, but need to sculpt across the seam for producing the final sculpt which will have a different look than the base nude model. I have a work around , but if its possible to sculpt on multi subtools it would make the process more intuitive and save me some time.

Thanks,
Gabe

subtool master. and merge multiple objects. The icon looks like three little boxes. or. You can export it out to maya or xsi and select all the objects and re export them back to zbrush, highres and lowres and recreate the ztool. I dont know is this helps.

Will this technique retain all of my subdivide levels?

Thanks for the help,
Gabe

the second technique will for sure but there is a lot of steps to it. the first is the easer of the two and I am not sure about that one. save your tool as a new version tool_v2 and try it.

That worked perfectly! Thanks for your knowlege, this technique will come in very handy for me.

no problem. I’m glad it worked for you.
