scattering objects all over model surface? (like 3DS Max "object paint" feature)

Hi everyone! I’m new to ZB. In 3DS Max I can cover a model with hundreds of little objects by using the object paint tool. For example, I can cover a horse in diamonds by painting the selected diamond all over the horse in a scattering effect. Can ZBrush do this type of thing, and if so, how do I got about it?

You may also want to watch the preview videos for the upcoming version of Zbrush, as they demonstrate new features that may be along the lines you’re looking for.
