Scared Silly entry by Wes Parker

This thread is my entry into the Scared Silly competition. I sure hope I can finish in time for judging!!

For my idea, I’m going for something visually humorous and a little sultry. I haven’t worked out all the details yet (obviously), but I was thinking of a zombie madame-of-the-night, posed with a pumpkin with the phrase “Trick and Treat” carved into it. The pun will be very visual, but since I can’t draw for beans, you guys are just going to have to use your powers of imaginations for a while. She would be posed in a scene of an old timey London street corner. I was thinking of her as very attractive from the torso down, but her face would be very obviously zombie. I kind of want to work with the idea some more, but since this is supposed to be done “in progress” I thought I’d get the idea down. I’ll make note of any changes.

Neat Idea! Sort of puts a new spin on the idea of “communicable diseases” and streetwalkers, but I don’t want to be overly specific

Welcome to the competition, and best of luck!

i keep picturing large lobsters hanging off her clothes, like a real bad case of the “lobsters”. this is going to be fun one, good luck.

Might make a tweak to the idea by having the carved pumpkin say “Trick or Treat,” add a candy pale, and have her dissapointedly and dismissively passing candy to a so-far indiscript man in costume. Or maybe not, I’ll have to experiment with it a little as an actual image, and not just something in my head.

Thanks for the replies

LOL! I love the idea, great stuff! :+1:

kzerza,

Maybe it’ll help your brainstorming to hack up and paste together some magazine pics. Certainly, by now, those Halloween ad tomes have begun to clog up your mail box. Make use of them.

Also, maybe you femme fatal still thinks she’s a smoking hot mama from the neck up, and is flirting with the pumpkin by attempting to look demure by holding or twirling a lolli pop.

Bah. Better off just posting some sketches.

 The pun should be pretty obvious. I like it.

another cool idea :+1:

Nice idea. I like the “old timey London street corner” setting. You might consider making it look nineteenth century - sort of “Jack the Ripper” era, all grimy and gloomy with smog. Just my two cents worth, maybe that’s what you meant anyway.
Best of luck and I look forward to seeing it develop.
