Scared Silly Entry by Dean Dewey

Alrighty, finally gonna do a contest.

My idea is this…Either Jason or the villian in Texas Chainsaw Massacre is at the gas station where there are OUT OF ORDER signs plastered all over the pump. He’s sitting there really depressed that he can’t fill up his empty chainsaw’s tank.

Concept coming soon.

i like this idea. good luck to you, look forward to your concepts.

Great idea :+1: Good luck with the contest.

Thanks.

Here’s the final concept sketch.

By the way, I’ll be using zbrush 3.1 (duh) and maya for some non-organic base meshes.

LOL! i like it! made me laugh out loud!:+1:  :+1:

LOL, Iove your idea, very good. All sad cause he can’t go out chainsaw’n people’s heads off haha.

Just keep in mind the layout and composition. Try different camera angles, like maybe a low camera looking up at his face from his feet to where you can see the gas pump in the background etc…

Good luck.

Thanks for the replies!

Ok. So I’ve finished modelling the chainsaw. Now on to texturing!

Here’s the base mesh:

I like this it’s so funny. I like the idea of it being jason, the hockey mask I think would be fun to make and he is more recognizable to me. all dressed up and no where to go cause his chainsaw is out of gas. this concept is a gas (pun intended) love it just love it. I would of loved to see that in one of the movies as a gag. That’s why I loved freddy more cause it had humor as well as scary. can’t wait for this one to be finished.

heheh this is good stuff how about a half slashed victim laughing at him?

I like it, nice chainsaw. Another thought. How about he only has a dollar and the price is $3.00 for gas?

I remember reading this when you first posted the idea…made me laugh then, and I’m glad you are still working on it. I can’t wait to see the gas pump…inorganic models are a favorite of mine, and an old rural gas pump on a dusty road stop is a great idea…

Thanks guys…

Fabritz, I like your idea! I may just make 2 versions. But the problem there is, couldn’t he just buy a dollar’s worth of gas?

Whoops, glad to see I’m not driving the boat. Good luck, you have a good idea here!

I’m nearly done with the chainsaw’s texturing. I like the way it’s turning out.

(yes, I know, I’m really slow)

Anyhow, after that, I’m gonna get going with the guy. Do you guys think I should go for a realistic man or more cartoonish? Personally, I think realism will add to the humor…cuz it actually could be scary if the situtation were different…

Finished Chainsaw Polypainting.

Comments?

Starting the guy with zpheres now.

Ho! that chainsaw looks scary! Well done so far!

I think I need to leather face (or other generic serial killer, copyright and all that) before I can offer any C&C’s.
What I will say is keep this up and you’ll have a fantastic picture in no time. :D:+1:

I like the idea!

Your polypainting would have gone better if you’d put more edge loops in along the blade and body of the saw. Because the polys are really long and thin, you’re getting stretchy blood splashes there.

You could fix this by adding edge loops to the base mesh and applying a deformation map of the un-edge-looped mesh to the re-subdivided model to get all your sculpting back.

Good luck with the figure model!

Thanks Guys.

Yeah I thought of, that. But with time time so limited…and the contest so far away, I’m gonna try and get the other models done to at least 80%, and then I’ll go back and see if I have time to touch of the other models.

Thanks so much for the comments. Really appreciate them!

Argh…High-school=wayyy demanding.

Anyhow…with the very little time I’ve had…I’ve gotten started with the scultping of the unfortunate killer.

Here is the base mesh built from zspheres:

And I made the mask:

Now onto the body. It will probably just be clothes though, due to so little
time, and still so much to do.

push thru, i hope to see this one done. nice work so far.
