Scared Silly Entree by Chris Tackett

Here’s a real rough sketch of a concept I’m considering. About a trick-or-treater having a run-in with a witch in some haunted castle/house or whatever. Then he sees something that might prove very useful… and it seems the tables may turn. Then the innocent boy seems not quite so innocent in his plans…

Like I said, it’s a rough sketch and I’ll be working on refining the idea. Any ideas on how to make it better are welcome! I just hope I can find the time to see this through.

EDIT:
Another idea I just had is of a monster wrestling/deathmatch. Maybe it’s Frankie vs. Dracula. Or the second part to this idea is Dracula vs. the Mummy and the ref says “This match is to the death!” and both are standing there shrugging, cuz they are already dead!

Some ideas are coming now, but I gotta narrow it down.

not a bad idea … i like your sketch, hope to see some work soon.

good luck

Nice idea, but I think you’re trying to tell too much story in one picture. If the bucket of repellent were held behind his back, visible to us, but concealed from the witch, it might all be more instantly readable.

Cheers,

I agree with Rory the bucket…spray can… should be held behind his back.

The idea was that it’s just a bucket of water like from the Wizard of Oz.

Anyway, I’m not sure about doing that idea anymore. I kinda like the other idea I had for a Celebrity Deathmatch between Dracula and the Mummy.

A ghost v. a zombie with missing torso: ‘No punching below the belt!’

Love the concept drawing. I too thought about the wiz of oz bucket while reading your concept ideas. Maybe have him holding the bucket behind his back as if he is ready for candy and has the candy bag out but also has another bucket just in case he runs into a witch. I do like the idea of the can of spray though, too. maybe oz’s witch replent in a can logo gives more for him just in case he runs into more witches.

nice sketching

I like your sketch a lot, very cool. I’m curious to see how your modeling will come along and as well how you will handle the hair. Would you render it in ZBrush or some other program using a hair plugin or would you just model it?

I always have a hard time with hair and making it look right. Thankfully all my models will be pumkins so I don’t have any hair to deal with.
