Couldn’t make it work. The problem is simple - i have a subtool with several layers and i want to scale it (mostly because the brush size is too big to work with smallest details).
The thing is - i cannot scale it with layers.
I tried to do it different ways
0. Tried to scale it with all layers disabled - works, but when i tried to interact with layers all the scaling was vanished.
- Tried to scale while recording one of the layers - works, but this layers ‘bakes’ all the details from other layers. I still want to be able to adjust layers and enable/disable them.
- Tried to do it with all layers disabled (except the one i’m recording) - works, but it ‘rewrites’ all the details from other layers when i enable them. And the order of layers doesn’t seem to mean something.
- Tried to do it with one layer in the recording mode and at the lowest subdivision level - doesn’t work since it destroys all the data on highest levels.
I can actually try to scale every layer one by one but in this case the size of each layer will be slightly different. Maybe i should also try to split layers to different subtools, scale them using scale master, and then reproject the details. But projecting isn’t a easy task, especially on high resolution models with a lot of small details.
So i don’t really know. Hope my English doesn’t make your eyes bleed.
